Almost all of Slovenian railway tracks are electrified with DC power lines of voltage of 3 kV. The length of tracks is 503,5 km, which presents a large electric power system, which is supplied from public distribution network.
Because the majority of Slovenian Railway Company's electric power objects are directly exposed to atmospheric conditions, the company has decided to subscribe to SCALAR system services. With the help of lightning detections, its electric power network's stability will improve and the time needed to correct line faults will be decreased.
